                                                     JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

 

Title:                                       Transportation Payroll Clerk          

Department:                           Transportation

Immediate Supervisor:           Transportation Director

                                  

Job Goal:    Manage the time/payroll system; process personnel

applications; process leave; oversee activity fund account; process requisitions, invoices,

state driver record’s reimbursement claim forms, and employee/student accident reports.

Assist dispatcher when needed, answer phone, oversee office machines, order supplies

and type correspondence as needed.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Manage TimePlus System; check time cards and record on cards the number units/hours driven during the week and any extra activity.
  1. Maintain accurate files and records.
  1.  Answer telephone.
  1. Open and distribute mail.  
  1. Oversee office machines.
  1.  Assist dispatcher as needed.  
  1.   Provide or direct employees with questions.

    8.   Process applications for State School Bus Driver’s Certificate.

  1.  Submit monthly personnel report.   
  1. Input leave taken by drivers and monitors.     
  1. Maintain Activity Account as needed
  1. Process Reimbursement Claim Forms as needed.
  1. Process Employee & Student Accident reports.
  2. Update seniority list of current drivers monthly 
  1. Update Random DOT file monthly.
  1. Provide admin with a current list of all charge cards for department use.
  1. Update all MVR’s and Physical’s on returning drivers.
  1. Make certain all files are ready for State Certification audit.
  1. Assist with end of school-term processing.
  1. Take bus driver applications.
  1. Ensure that all bus drivers have submitted their physical and bus drivers license information to the State Department of Education.
  1. Other duties may be assigned.

 

 

Length of Contract:       Two hundred forty (240) contract days. 

Salary commensurate with experience on the negotiated agreement of the Support

Employees of Edmond (SEE).

 

Evaluation:   Performance of this job will be evaluated by the

Transportation Director in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies, state

law, and the negotiated agreement with the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE).

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:

None.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

None required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, staff, parents, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to plan budgets and use the mathematical skills required to do so.  Maintain accurate records and support documentation for projects under the supervision of the position.

 

REASONING SKILLS:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to use computer and computer related programs and other technologies needed to perform essential job functions.  Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.  Ability to organize and chair or facilitate committees and meetings.  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
